A strainer is a pipe fitting that filters or separates solid matter from liquids, preventing debris like scale, rust, and jointing compound from entering critical equipment. By protecting downstream components such as pumps, flow meters, and control valves, strainers reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

Strainers are typically classified into two types based on body configuration:

T-Type (Basket Type) Strainers: Larger capacity for higher volume flow applications.
